A note on insurance
Like most independent home birth midwives in Maryland and Pennsylvania, Sacred Journey is out of network with insurance plans. In-network rates would force us to shorten visits and see more clients, the opposite of what this kind of care needs.
Many families recover a meaningful portion of their fee through out-of-network reimbursement. We work with Vicci Davidson at URbilling, who specializes in midwifery claims and walks you through the process.

Standard Package
Office appointments
$6,900
Complete midwifery care with prenatal visits at our office. The same hands, the same care, in a quieter clinical setting.
Sacred Package
Home appointments
$7,900
Everything in the Standard Package, with prenatal visits in your home. Especially loved by families with little ones already at home.
What every package includes
All prenatal care throughout your pregnancy
On-call coverage for emergencies from 37 weeks
A midwife and trained assistant at your birth (second midwife available upon request)
Complete newborn care in your home
A minimum of three postpartum visits across the first six weeks
Lactation support through six weeks postpartum
Free birth pool for clients who want one

Outside services we coordinate but do not include in package pricing:
Lab work through Accureference
Genetic testing through Natera
Ultrasounds through Progressive Radiology, Advanced Radiology, St. Joeseph Medical Center, and Little Bo Peep
Rhogam and Vitamin K when needed or wanted
Birth kit ordered through PreciousArrows.com (typically $80 to $140)
Payment options
We accept cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, and credit or debit cards. Cards carry a 4 percent processor fee charged by the card company. Checks are accepted before 34 weeks of pregnancy.
Payment plans can be arranged during your free chat. The goal is for the financial side to feel as cared-for as the rest of your experience.
