The full arc, one practice

You will not be passed between strangers. Sacred Journey provides the full continuum of midwifery care, from preconception planning through six weeks postpartum, with the same two midwives who already know your name and your story.

What we offer

Home birth midwifery

Complete care for low-risk pregnancies, with your birth taking place in the home you have prepared. We bring the equipment, expertise, and calm presence. You bring the rest.

  • Long, unhurried prenatal appointments throughout pregnancy
  • On-call coverage from 37 weeks through your birth
  • A midwife and trained assistant present at your birth (second midwife available upon request)
  • Immediate newborn assessment in your bed

Waterbirth options

A free birth pool is available to every client who wants one. Water can offer profound pain relief during labor and a softer landing for your baby. We talk through whether waterbirth is a fit for your home and your hopes during pregnancy.

Prenatal care

Visits unfold the way real conversations do. We track the clinical pieces (blood pressure, fundal height, fetal heart tones, lab results) and we make room for the rest of what pregnancy stirs up: the questions, the body changes, the family logistics, the wonder.

Nutrition counseling

Pregnancy nutrition is one of the strongest levers for an easier birth and a healthier baby. Each client receives nutritional guidance built around real life, real groceries, and what your body is asking for in this season.

Postpartum care

Most postpartum care in this country ends at six weeks with one quick visit. Ours starts within the first 24 hours and continues through three or more home visits across your first six weeks. We watch for healing, weigh your baby, support feeding, and check in on you, the whole you.

Newborn care

Within the first hours, we complete a full newborn exam in your home. We monitor weight, feeding, jaundice, and reflexes through every postpartum visit. Vitamin K and erythromycin are available for families who want them, with no pressure either way.

Lactation support

Atara holds lactation training and Dianne has been helping mothers latch since 1994. Latch troubleshooting, supply concerns, pumping setup, and the mental load of feeding a newborn are all part of standard postpartum care.

Childbirth education

Sacred Journey is affiliated with Birth Boot Camp's virtual childbirth classes, taught by certified instructors and accessible on demand. See the Childbirth Education page for the full list and direct registration links.
